“I like to thank everybody who participated in the fingerprint project on the Kabuki family day. It made it possible to draw some conclusions about the possibility of using fingerprint analysis as a diagnostic tool for the Kabuki syndrome. The results are promising. They confirmed that certain pre-observed fingerprint characteristics might be useful in the diagnostic process of the Kabuki syndrome. The research project will therefore continue with the goal to solidate the method of fingerprint analysis by increasing the total sample size and changing the characteristics of the control group. It would not have been possible to get those results without your participation within the timeframe of past summer.

If those who participated are willing and able to find the genetic variant which has been confirmed in the KMT2D or KDM6A gene and send it to me, it would be greatly appreciated. It would help to increase the validity of the data analysis for future peer review. Those who are willing can send me the information to via23@hi.is with age at the time of the family day (June), ethnicity and the genetic anomaly in KTM2D or KDM6A so I can connect it with the correct fingerprint. Since the data does not have any personal information, this is the only way I can correctly add this to the data that I have.
